For CSN, Dr. Tu (Gary) combines his own knowledge and experience with world-class architects, engineers, technologists, digital communications, and security experts to help CSN make America (and the world) a safer place for children to live. Gary realizes that technology is not making our children safer. Instead, it is placing our families at risk in new and ever-expanding ways that are too prolific for any parent to navigate without help.
Currently, Dr. Gary Tu is Managing Director and CEO of Changhong-Microsoft Global IoT Innovation Center and Managing Director of Changhong North America; a world leader in Industry IoT, Consumer Electronics and Green Technologies with annual revenues (2021) exceeded $30 billion USD. Gary has more than 25 years experiences in multiple industry domains. He received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Biophysics from Tsinghua University Tsinghua, which is often called “China’s MIT” is ranked number one in the world for studying sciences according to U.S. News in a report with Cambridge-based MIT ranking second.
Gary earned his Ph.D. in Bioelectronics from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. While Global talent is needed to resolve the issues that face parents in the U.S., proprietary code developed or used to protect our nation’s children is will not be outsourced; it will be owned and controlled by the Child Safety Network™ or its U.S. partners. Highlights of Gary’s experience that has prepared him to help CSN save lives through technology include developing world-class digital audio codec technology and systems to customers in the Internet, telecommunication, TV, and broadcasting industries. Gary also Cofounded and performed as CEO for Toplink Technology that successfully provided MPEG4 based HD content creation, distribution, and display technology and systems to customers in TV and Film industries.
His company was acquired by United Media Holdings Inc. In Silicon Valley (San Jose), CA, Gary cofounded Aicent, Inc., where he was Chief Architect & VP of Business Development and GM where his team successfully provided global mobile roaming technology services for customers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Vodafone, Orange, Japan DOCOMO, Singapore SinTel, and others until his company was acquired by Syniverse Technology Inc. Gary is a proud father of three (two boys and a girl); and is excited to use his skills to support CSN with its mission.
