There are still many recalls of sunflower seed products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination this week. An outbreak has been announced, although in a very low key way on the FDA web site. On June 3, 2016, a recall notice for First Source sunflower seed products stated, “currently, there are two possible illnesses being investigated in connection with this recall.” The CDC has not reported on this possible outbreak.
The recalls are listed below, from newest to oldest. Please check your pantry and refrigerator to make sure you do not have any of these recalled products. We have also updated the recall roundup for products containing SunOpta sunflower seeds.

Bounce USA recalled Apple Cinnamon Protein Punch Energy Balls for possible Listeria contamination on June 10, 2106.
NoGii recalled Nuts About Berries Paleo Bars for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination on June 10, 2016.
DF Mavens Chocolate Almond Fudge Frozen Bars were recalled on June 9, 2016 for undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens.
In Canada, sunflower seed products sold under Cabela’s and Uncle Buck’s were recalled for possible Listeria contamination on June 9, 2016.
In Canada, sunflower seeds sold under various names were recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination on June 9, 2016. A detailed product listing is available.
Rucker’s Wholesale and Service Company recalled Sunflower Kernels, Cajun Hot Mix, and Sweet N Salty for possible Listeria contamination on June 8, 2016. The brand names of those products are Big R Stores, Bomgaar’s, C-A-L Ranch Stores, Coastal, Family Choice, Fin Feather Fur Outfitters, Gebos, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Theisen’s, Atwood’s Ranch & Home, Bass Pro Shop’s Uncle Buck’s, Cabela’s, Farm & Home Supply, F & S Trading, Jay’s Sporting Goods, Moo’d Food/Murdochs, and Rural King.
Stuckey’s Sunflower Kernels were recalled on June 8, 2016 for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Nature Made recalled the vitamins Adult Gummies Multi, Adult Gummies Multi + Omega-3, Nature Made Adult Gummies for Her plus Omega-3s, and Super B Complex w/ C & Folic Acid Tablets because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria and Staph aureus toxin. That recall was on June 8, 2016.
SunOpta recalled sunflower seeds from four Giant Eagle Market District stores in Ohio and Pennsylvania for possible Listeria contamination on June 7, 2016.
The Body Shot Bar recalled Step 2 weight loss dietary supplement on June 7, 2016 because it contained the undeclared drugs Sibutramine and phenolphthalein, which can cause cancer and heart problems.

Dollywood Cajun Mix was recalled by Rucker’s Makin’ Batch Candies on June 7, 2016, for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
In Canada, Kashi brand Trail Mix Whole Grain Bars were recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination on June 7, 2016.
Frito-Lay recalled Rold Gold Tiny Twists, Rold Gold Thins, Rold Gold Sticks and Rold Gold Honey Wheat Breaded for possible peanut allergen on June 6, 2016. These products were made with flour recalled for that reason.
In Canada, Atkins brand bars containing sunflower seeds were recalled for possible Listeria contamination on June 6, 2016.
Herr Foods recalled Waffle Works Double Chocolate Waffle Sandwiches for undeclared milk on June 6, 2016.
The Hershey Company recalled SoFit sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and almonds for possible Listeria contamination on June 6, 2015.
